From catching roach on the Thames aged three I have spent the intervening years a fishing addict, possibly beyond help. My other great love is writing and since the start of 2007 I have featured in a number of titles including Angler's Mail, Waterlog, Fly Fishing & Fly Tying, UK Carp, Pike and Predators, The Get Hooked Guide and Devon Life among others.

My previous life reads like an A-Z of random jobs, from journalist to English Teacher, via house removals, road sweeping and playing/reviewing music. Fishing and writing are perhaps the only pursuits that have really stuck!

My aspiration is to write fresh, original material. I want to capture something of the soul of fishing, as well as the nuts and bolts of the sport.

I love just about any fishing, from tackling trout on a fly rod to the pursuit of pike, carp and roach to just about anything, from tiny ponds to the open sea. It's all about the experience, as much as the catch, for me.
